Pacific Northwest: A Place Unlike Any Other

It was the first week of fall semester in 2012, and I was standing on the auditorium stage at Cedarville University. Just a few months prior, I had planned on being back here to start my junior year of college like everyone else in my class. But instead of gearing up for classes, I was back at school to officially drop out and say goodbye to all my friends and move to the Pacific Northwest. I had just accepted a year-long internship in the Seattle area and I was a few days away from making the move across the country. It was too good of an opportunity to pass up. I was on the stage talking with Patrick Anderson, my guitar teacher at Cedarville for the past two years, assuring him that this was just a one year deal and that I'd be back next fall. He chuckled and responded with, "Have you ever been to the Pacific Northwest before? Yeah... you're never going to come back here." He was right.

Fast forward four years and here I am... still in Seattle and loving every second of it. While I spend my weekdays doing marketing for a tech company, my weekends are filled with adventures both near and far. I even purchased my first camera in July of 2015 so I could document life in the PNW.

I love the Pacific Northwest, and I love helping others see how fortunate we are to live in such an incredible part of the country. While many associate Seattle with constant rain and darkness, I think of a place that is filled with eclectic neighborhoods, amazing restaurants and bars, and any type of outdoor adventure you could possibly want to experience just a short drive away.

When you think about it, there’s not really another major city in the U.S. that has all of that in such close proximity. And that’s what I love sharing. Whether it be a new spot in my neighborhood, a well-traveled trail (just because it’s been documented doesn’t make it any less majestic), or a new adventure that’s off the beaten path. I want to go out and explore to experience the wonder that is the Pacific Northwest, and share that amazement with those around me.
